Аннотация

Институциональная экономика (economics) перешла от позиции, характерной для начала двадцатого века, эклектически опирающейся на другие дисциплины, к построению своей аргументации почти исключительно на неоклассических материалах. В данной статье утверждается, что такая позиция не может дать убедительного объяснения экономических институтов, и предлагаются более широкие основания, базирующиеся на классическом социологическом положении об укорененности экономических целей и экономической деятельности в социально-ориентированных целях и структурах. Акцент делается на том, как получается, что экономическая деятельность скорее контролируется группами людей, чем осуществляется изолированными индивидами. Фирмы в развивающихся странах, бизнес-группы и истоки электроэнергетической промышленности в Соединенных Штатах рассматриваются как случаи «социального конструирования экономических институтов». Утверждается, что хотя должный анализ таких случаев включает большой уровень контингентности, эта контингентность может приниматься в расчет при систематической теоретической аргументации, и возможность избежать заблуждений историзма существует. Такие положения формулируются в качестве четкой программы новой экономической социологии.
