Abstract

The article analyzes the stereotypes of perception and behavior in the Russian- Korean cross-cultural communication. Stereotypes of Russian students about Korea and Koreans are revealed in a survey of students at St. Petersburg State University in 2011. The process of overcoming stereotypes is considered on the basis of the M. Bennett’s developmental model of intercultural sensitivity including ethnocentric and ethnorelativistic stages.
