Abstract

The article based on several studies investigates the peculiarities of gender relationships. The material under analysis was gathered between 2004 and 2010 in multinational territories of the North Caucasus. Taking into consideration the attitudes to gender interaction in public and private spheres as well as match (mismatch) of gender subgroups three stable types of gender relations can be distinguished: conservative (The Republics of Ingushetia and Adygea), transitional (The Republics of Karachaevo-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria) and modernized (Rostov Region).
