The article covers the activities of Academician Alexander Lappo-Danilevsky for the organization of the Institute of Social Sciences in Petrograd in 1918. The author cites the archival notes by A. Lappo-Danilevsky, as well as extracts from the protocol of the committee meeting of the Academy of Sciences where the need for a sociological institution was discussed.
